Ashley Booher, clarinets
Clarinetist and bass clarinetist Ashley Booher currently holds the position of third clarinet/bass clarinet with the Kennedy Center Opera Orchestra. In addition to the Kennedy Center, Ashley was the third clarinet/bass clarinetist of the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic from 2009-2011. She has performed with other orchestras including the Carmel Symphony, Muncie Symphony, IU Festival Orchestra and Bloomington Camerata. From 2010-2011 she held the position of Associate Instructor of clarinet at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music while pursuing her Doctorate in Music at the same institution. She has also held teaching positions at numerous summer music camps, including Encore-Coda in Sweden, Maine and SYMS in Durham, New Hampshire. In 2006 Ashley was a winner of the University of New Hampshire Concerto Competition in Durham, NH. Her teachers have included James Campbell, Eli Eban, Howard Klug, David Seiler, and Alfred Prinz. She currently resides in Alexandria, VA where she enjoys spending time with her husband Dana and their Chocolate Labrador, Melody.
